Corrections Policy
Accuracy is the only thing that makes independent reporting worth reading. When we get something wrong, we fix it on the record.
Reporting an error
Email newsroom@pacificpressasia.com with the article URL, the passage in question and, where possible, a link to the primary source.
How we review
An editor re-checks the disputed claim against the original sources on file. Claims that cannot be supported by an accessible primary or corroborating source are removed or rewritten rather than softened.
How corrections appear
A corrected article keeps its URL. The revised passage is published in place and the article carries an updated modification date, so readers and search engines see the same corrected version.
Material corrections
When a correction changes the substance of a story — a figure, an attribution, an identification — the corrected article is republished at the same URL with an updated modification date, and the correspondence trail is kept on file by the editorial desk.
Unverified reporting
Stories whose factual basis cannot be established are withdrawn from publication and returned to editorial review instead of remaining live with a caveat.
Escalation
If you believe a correction request was handled incorrectly, write to info@pacificpressasia.com and the matter is reviewed by the editorial desk.
